Feel “A Touch Of Evil” With New Riverdale Trailer

Now that the series premiere of Riverdale has come and gone, many of us can likely agree that it made quite the impression (just check out our review). With a solid foundation having been laid in the form of an Archie-Betty-Veronica dynamic that's true to the source material and a killer murder mystery to boot serving as season 1's backdrop, all eyes are on the second episode set air next week.

Granted, they did touch on a lot of the teen drama tropes last night, but it should be interesting to see if those Twin Peaks comparisons ring true now that the investigation into Jason Blossom’s death is in full swing. Although most, if not all, of the blanks will be filled in as the series progresses, we can’t help but wonder if any other juicy details will be disclosed in the upcoming prequel comic.

While the trailer for next week’s episode is certainly enticing and filled to the brim when it comes to pull quotes, it doesn’t divulge much when it comes to the plot. Fortunately, a few details are to be gleaned from the official synopsis, which can be found below:

As new details of Jason’s death begin to emerge, Archie (KJ Apa) pleads with Miss Grundy (guest star Sarah Habel) to come forward with what they heard at Sweetwater River. Betty (Lili Reinhart) makes an effort to mend her friendship with Archie but takes a different stance with Veronica (Camila Mendes), who is trying to make up for her actions. With rumors around her brother’s death running rampant, Cheryl (Madelaine Petsch) deals with the pressure in true Queen Bee fashion, while tensions boil over when Jughead (Cole Sprouse) stumbles upon a secret Archie was hoping to keep hidden. Finally, plans for the annual fall pep rally move forward with a performance by Josie (Ashleigh Murray) and the Pussycats and a special appearance by Mayor McCoy (guest star Robin Givens.) Marisol Nichols, Madchen Amick and Luke Perry also star.

Riverdale airs on Thursday nights on The CW.
