Though Deadpool and Wolverine shared the screen back in 2009’s dreadful X-Men Origins: Wolverine, that film is best not remembered. For many fans, the two iconic characters have never truly teamed up together in a movie and that’s an absolute shame. When Ryan Reynolds brought Wade Wilson back last year to tremendous success though, many assumed a crossover would now happen, but that doesn’t seem to be the case. And, with Hugh Jackman hanging up the adamantium claws for good after Logan, it sadly may never come to fruition.
Some are still holding out hope for some kind of cameo in the aforementioned threequel, or perhaps even in Deadpool 2, but it’s not looking likely and as much as we hate to say it, it seems like these two characters will not be sharing the screen ever again. At least, not in their current forms. That’s why we’re so excited to bring you this brand new fan-made trailer, which we put together for those who are yearning to see the two heroes team up again.
Titled Deadpool and Wolverine, this exciting new video imagines what an 80’s style buddy cop film featuring the characters would look like. Edited together in a style reminiscent of trailers for so many 80s classics, it’s a brief, yet tantalizing tease of what could be if somehow, the studio was able to pull this off. Again, it seems next to impossible that a team up movie will ever get made, but we can always hope, right?
