Two New Logan TV Spots Tease A Dark Journey

It's hard to believe, but we're now less than a month away from Hugh Jackman's final turn as Wolverine. The actor first portrayed the iconic hero way back in Bryan Singer's X-Men - which hit theaters in 2000, for those of you keeping track - and after James Mangold's Logan releases, he'll hang up the adamanitum claws for good. Unless Ryan Reynolds can convince him to cameo in Deadpool 2, that is.

It’s hard to believe, but we’re now less than a month away from Hugh Jackman’s final turn as Wolverine. The actor first portrayed the iconic hero way back in Bryan Singer’s X-Men – which hit theaters in 2000, for those of you keeping track – and after James Mangold’s Logan releases, he’ll hang up the adamanitum claws for good. Unless Ryan Reynolds can convince him to cameo in Deadpool 2, that is.

That doesn’t seem too likely though and for all intents and purposes, next month’s X-Men film will herald Jackman’s final outing as the clawed mutant. It’ll be quite unlike anything we’ve seen from the franchise before, too, as this is far from your average superhero flick. Sporting a much more somber and moody tone than what you’d usually get with the genre, it’s clear that Mangold has crafted something really unique here, and with the much loved Old Man Logan arc from the comics acting as inspiration, fans should be in for a real treat.

Logan

Now, with less than a month to go until Logan claws its way into theaters, Fox has released two new TV spots for the threequel. Both are rather brief, but it’s nice to see Laura get the focus in one of them while the mysterious Caliban pops up in the other, which is sure to excite those who are eager to learn more about him. Aside from all that, there’s also some sweet action shots and more of Professor X imparting wisdom on the titular hero.

Overall, it paints a promising picture for what appears to be a dark journey for Wolverine, one that might just be worthy of an Oscar – if Reynolds is to be believed. It’s high praise, to be sure, but the film might just warrant it. All sings point to it being something pretty special and we’re beyond eager to see what Mangold and co. have in store for us when it arrives next month.

Logan will make its debut on March 3rd and aside from Jackman, it also stars Patrick Stewart, Dafne Keen, Boyd Holbrook, Richard E. Grant, Stephen Merchant and more. We’ll no doubt be seeing more from it before it arrives, but for now, feast your eyes on the two new spots below and get ready for one final ride with the iconic mutant.
