No reason has been given for this delay, but we’ll keep you updated if we hear more. Though the PC version is now scheduled for a September 13 release date, that is for the North American version. European gamers can enter the west three days later, on September 16.

I’ve been looking forward to the console version for a little while now, being that I’ve played through the first two. The series certainly improved with its transition from the original to its predecessor, so it’ll be interesting to see what way this second sequel goes. Its multiplayer sounds quite interesting as well and overall, I’m interested in checking this one out.
