Glee creators Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk are gearing up for American Horror Story at FX. Deadline reports that the series could be ready for a Halloween premiere. The pilot for American Horror Story was ordered even before casting had begun, back in February 2011.

Eventually, the series snagged an Emmy veteran cast that includes the former star of The Practice, Dylan McDermott, Friday Night Lights and Spin City star Connie Britton and Oscar and Emmy winner Jessica Lange. McDermott and Britton will portray a married couple who move to a home in the country after suffering marriage troubles and find themselves in a country house that reflects their fears.

Jessica Lange plays the couple’s nosy neighbor while Six Feet Under star Frances Conroy plays their creepy house keeper. Alexandra Breckinridge, Taissa Farmiga and Denis O’Hare round out the cast. Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk will take turns running American Horror Story and Glee.

This will be the third series for Dylan McDermott since the end of his highly successful run on the late 90’s legal drama The Practice. For Connie Britton American Horror Story follows up a critically hailed but little seen five seasons on the footbal drama Friday Night Lights.

As for Jessica LangeAmerican Horror Story will be the first series for the Oscar winner whose previous TV experience, and Emmy wins, came in the TV movies  Grey Gardens and Cat on a Hot Tin Roof.

Finally, American Horror Story continues Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk‘s relationship with FX, the duo crafted six seasons of the plastic surgery drama Nip/Tuck for the network.

No official premiere date is set for American Horror Story but fans may get an early look. TV Line’s Vlad Gelman speculated on Twitter that FX may sneak the pilot at Comic-Con in San Diego next week but it’s not for sure, we’ll have to wait and see.
