First Poster For Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy

A new poster for Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy has been released. The English-language debut of Let The Right One In director Tomas Alfredson is one of the year's most anticipated films and will likely be a shoe in come awards season. The teaser trailer that hit a few weeks back was more than impressive and now we have the official one sheet, to help maintain our excitement. It features Gary Oldman made up of code, which seemingly is meaningless. Although, if you think otherwise, feel free to try and decipher it.

Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy has massive potential. Tomas Alfredson was praised for his Swedish horror film Let The Right One In and working from John le Carre’s novel means that he has excellent source material for his film. Then there is the cast. We have a pre-The Dark Knight Rises pairing of Gary Oldman and Tom Hardy, plus Oscar winner Colin Firth and also a number of fantastic actors in supporting roles. People like Mark Strong and Ciaran Hinds, who may not be household names, but are still very accomplished actors, show up here to support the leading men.

I can’t see much going wrong with this film and I think you’d be foolish not to expect to see it at the next Academy Awards. It looks absolutely fantastic and is right up there on my list of most anticipated.

Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy stars Colin Firth, Gary Oldman, Tom Hardy, John Hurt, Toby Jones, Mark Strong, Benedict Cumberbatch and Ciaran Hinds. It hits U.K. theaters on September 16th with a U.S. release following on November 18th.

Based on the classic novel of the same name, the international thriller is set at the height of the Cold War years of the mid-20th Century. George Smiley (Gary Oldman), a disgraced British spy, is rehired in secret by his government – which fears that the British Secret Intelligence Service, a.k.a. MI-6, has been compromised by a double agent working for the Soviets.
