Will Michael Rooker’s Yondu Be In Avengers: Infinity War?

We always knew Avengers: Infinity War was going to be a big film, but at this point, it's starting to look like it may be too big for its own good. As excited as we are to see all these characters come together and interact with one another, ultimately putting their differences aside to team up and defeat big bad Thanos, it begs the question: will it be too much?

There’s only so much room in the movie and with the large amount of characters Marvel is planning to squeeze in here, you’ve got to wonder if Infinity War will stretch itself too thin. So far, it sounds like every single person still breathing in the MCU will have a role in Joe and Anthony Russo’s film, and today, we’re hearing of one more actor that’s now joined the cast. Or at least, that’s what it looks like.

Taking to Instagram, Guardians of the Galaxy‘s Michael Rooker posted the following:

It doesn’t take a genius to put two and two together here. Aside from the hat on his head, which boasts the film’s new production logo, there’s also the fact that he’s in Georgia, which is where Avengers: Infinity War is shooting. Granted, this could just be a fun tease and perhaps he’s only stopping by to visit some friends, but we’re inclined to believe that the actor is there to shoot a role in the upcoming blockbuster.

Marvel still hasn’t released an official cast list for the film and at this point, we can’t say for sure who exactly’s in it. However, all the signs point to just about everyone getting in on the fun and we just hope that the Russos are able to juggle everything and balance it all out in an effective manner. After all, there’s no reason to throw characters into Infinity War just for the sake of it. They need to serve a purpose and actually help move the story forward, otherwise their appearance will come off as forced and unnecessary.

We’ve seen this sort of thing happen with many superhero films before and are hoping that isn’t the case here as well. Granted, Captain America: Civil War turned out alright and that was pretty packed with characters, too, but it wasn’t anywhere near as busy as Avengers: Infinity War will be. Let’s just hope then that Marvel’s got a plan for how to handle all this and that they haven’t become too over ambitious.
