20th Century Fox’s casting department has been a hive of activity of late, what with the studio’s live-action X-Men TV series taking serious strides toward development.

Indeed, from the moment Fox and Marvel announced the collaboration, Stephen Moyer, Jamie Chung, Blair Redford and Sean Teale have all landed roles in the upcoming and as-yet-untitled pilot, and today brings confirmation that Natalie Alyn Lind (Gotham) is the latest addition to the fold. She’ll play Lauren, a series regular described as “smart, pretty, popular, organized and already ahead on her college applications, she is the model of a perfect kid.”

That perfect kid also happens to be one of the show’s mutant children. Pursued by a shadowy government agency, Lauren and her gifted siblings force their powerless parents to leave whatever semblance of normality they had left in search of safety. Stephen Moyer has been cast as the father, Reed, an “ambitious attorney trying to balance the demands of his job at the DA’s office with his family responsibilities.” Alongside his wife – a role that is, at the time of writing, still vacant – the pair find themselves in the company of an underground mutant network, which houses such superpowered individuals as Blink (Chung) and Eclipse (Teale).

Behind the scenes, Matt Nix and X-Men: Apocalypse director Bryan Singer are developing Fox and Marvel’s untitled pilot episode. They’ll both executive produce, too, alongside series stalwart Simon Kinberg, who is reportedly among those in contention to take the reins on the next mainline X-Men movie, rumored to be titled Supernova.

There’s still no mention of a production timeline for Fox’s X-Men pilot. We will, however, keep you posted as more information comes to light. Next up for the mutant universe is the launch of Logan on March 3rd, which closes the book on Wolverine’s saga with aplomb.
