Oscar Isaac has found himself a role in The Bourne Legacy. The Guatemalan actor, who is most well known for his roles as Prince John in Robin Hood and as Blue Jones in Sucker Punch, will play a brainwashed assassin named Number 3 and he is said to have quite a large role in the film.

What’s interesting is that the actor did such a fantastic job on his screen test, that he was actually considered for the leading role, which ended up going to Jeremy Renner. Isaac will join not only Renner in the film but also Rachel Weisz and Edward Norton.

This is another big step for the relatively unknown actor. He hasn’t had too many prominent roles just yet, but he’s well on his way to becoming an A-lister. He’s a talented individual and should he succeed in The Bourne Legacy, his star will surely rise.

The film is based on a new operative (Renner) taking on a new clandestine government operation that makes Treadstone look like the Boy Scouts. Filming will begin shortly with an August 2012 release date in mind.
