With Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 quickly approaching, and Spider-Man: Homecoming set to follow after that, it’s not too surprising that Marvel has been shying away from showing us too much of Thor: Ragnarok. After all, they’ve no doubt got their hands full with those two aforementioned films and given that the God of Thunder’s threequel isn’t set to drop into theatres until November, they’ve still got more than enough time to market it.
That being said, we did get a generous helping of official images courtesy of Entertainment Weekly not too long ago, which shed some light on the direction that helmer Taika Waititi is taking the film in. As far as we can tell, it looks quite different from what’s come before and that can only be a good thing, given that Thor and Thor: The Dark World are two of the weakest outings in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Now, we have some more visuals to feast on, as some new promo art has emerged which provides a look at both the titular hero and the Hulk all decked out in their gladiator gear. It’s not all that revealing, but it’s definitely cool to see the character like this and hopefully, it signals that a trailer isn’t too far off now. We already know that the first preview is complete and in the can, as Guardians director James Gunn has seen it – and claims it’s incredible – so we imagine that there isn’t too much longer to go now before Marvel debuts it.
