With CinemaCon 2017 beginning to get underway in Las Vegas, Sony Pictures has confirmed that a new trailer for Spider-Man: Homecoming will make its way online tomorrow, March 28th, and a fleeting teaser has arrived to tide us over.

In it, you’ll see Tom Holland going up against the Vulture, Michael Keaton’s glowering baddie that pushes Spidey dangerously close to a damaged airplane engine. Better known as Adrian Toomes, Vulture calls upon his literal partners in crime Shocker (Bokeem Woodbine) and the Tinkerer (Michael Chernus) to cobble together various pieces of alien tech, resulting in a frighteningly powerful and indeed high-tech wing suit.

It’s a radical, modern overhaul for a character who first appeared opposite Spider-Man back in ’63, and when USA Today asked Keaton to outline his character’s motivations, the Oscar-winner revealed that his Toomes has something of a bone to pick with Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.), whose Stark Industries interfered with the Vulture’s place of work and wound up costing Toomes, Shocker and the Tinkerer their jobs. It’s no wonder that they turn their crosshairs toward Peter Parker, then.

Here’s what Keaton had to share about his Adrian Toomes and why he feels hard done by: “Some people see themselves as victims — he sees himself a little bit like that. He probably would have a strong argument that he never got a fair shot — a lot of ‘Why not me? Where’s mine?’”

Below, you’ll be able to get a taste of Michael Keaton suited, booted and ready to put Spidey through the wringer.

Bouncing off Keaton’s comments regarding Vulture, director Jon Watts then touched on the ways in which Spider-Man: Homecoming weaves its way into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Essentially, Watts and the creative team mined previous Marvel movies for “neat junk” and various pieces of alien weaponry to establish a formidable arsenal for Toomes and his pair of nefarious goons.

“It’s a really great starting point for the villains to have the Vulture picking over the stuff and finding the valuable exotic elements and having the Tinkerer assemble into something that could be used.”

Looks like those poster reveals were a harbinger of things to come after all; the second full trailer for Spider-Man: Homecoming will be with us tomorrow, March 28th, and you can readily expect full coverage here on WGTC the moment it goes live. Can it help cement Tom Holland’s status as the best Spider-Man yet? Anthony Mackie certainly thinks so.
