Another TV Spot Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2 Brings The Spectacle

The whole universe is on the hunt for James Gunn's ragtag crew in the latest TV spot for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.

Cast your mind back to when Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 was incubating in the early stages of development, long before Baby Groot wormed his way into our hearts and minds, and you’ll likely recall an interview in which Chris Pratt claimed Guardians 2 would go down as the biggest spectacle movie of all-time.

Pratt is back, back, back in the role of Star-Munch Star-Lord, and as Marvel’s marketing machine begins to fire on all cylinders, not a day goes by without some form of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 promo finding its way online – and today is no different. Per James Gunn’s lively Facebook feed, we now have the seventh TV spot for the director’s galactic sequel, one that crams in a downbeat exchange between Rocket and Groot, eye-popping action, and the daughters of Thanos at war with one another.

We are, of course, referring to Gamora (Zoe Saldana) and Nebula (Karen Gillan). Following a brief, yet memorable role in the original Guardians of the Galaxy, Gillan’s blue-skinned alien looks set to enjoy more screentime, and early photos have showcased her standing shoulder to shoulder with the Guardians themselves. Perhaps the two unite in the face of a common enemy? Should that prove to be the case, they’ll likely be squaring off against Elizabeth Debicki’s Ayesha, the high priestess of a genetically-modified race known as the Sovereign. Always fond of a little mischief, it seems Star-Lord and the gang double-cross Debicki’s ruler while out in the cosmos, which would go some ways to explaining why most, if not all of the galaxy are on their tail.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 shoots for U.S. theaters on May 5th, at which point we’ll know for sure whether Chris Pratt’s bold claim is a bit of a stretch, or bang on point.
