As Marvel’s Avengers: Infinity War continues production in Edinburgh, Scotland, this latest batch of images from the set are by far the most spoiler-filled yet – so fair warning before reading any further.

Earlier set snaps have already confirmed that at some point during the movie, Thanos’ minions (most likely members of his lethal Black Order) will track down the Infinity Stone that’s set in the middle of the Vision’s (Paul Bettany) forehead to Earth, where the powerful android will attempt to fend off his attackers with the help of Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen). Well, it looks like the aliens are successful in retrieving the stone, and the results are something nobody will have expected.

The images in the gallery above show Olsen and Bettany getting very close indeed, and while the shots do look more like something you’d see in the National Enquirer, the actors are 100% in character as Vision and Wanda here. That means – unless there’s some other explanation for his appearance – removing the Infinity Stone must cause Vision to assume a more human form.

A romance between these two has been brewing since Age of Ultron, so there’s no big shock there, but Vision shedding his android skin is definitely a surprise. Does this mean Bettany will be playing the character as a human moving forward? It’s certainly possible, and what’s even more interesting is that E! News, who provided the photos, mention that Vision still “retains some of his abilities even though he’s (seemingly) completely human.” Cue the speculation!

Avengers: Infinity War will open on May 4th, 2018 and with production now well underway,  you can expect more set photos like the ones above to continue finding their way online. As always, be sure to watch this space for more.
