Clint Eastwood To Direct ISIS Terrorist Drama The 15:17 To Paris

When it comes to films depicting American heroism, few do it better than Clint Eastwood. The Hollywood legend loves a good tale of fighting the good fight and for his next project, he'll be tackling yet another true story that shows off bravery at its finest. That's because the director will get behind the camera for The 15:17 to Paris, which has a script from newcomer Dorothy Blyskal.

When it comes to films depicting American heroism, few do it better than Clint Eastwood. The Hollywood legend loves a good tale of fighting the good fight and for his next project, he’ll be tackling yet another true story that shows off bravery at its finest. That’s because the director will get behind the camera for The 15:17 to Paris, which has a script from newcomer Dorothy Blyskal.

Apparently, casting on the pic is already underway, with production looking to begin later this year. In terms of what it’s actually about, the film will tell the story of “three American friends who took down an ISIS terrorist on the #9364 train from Brussels to Paris in 2015.” Two of them were off-duty members of the army, and together, they stopped the assailant before he could carry out his plan.

Given the recent success of both American Sniper and Sully, not to mention several other credits on his resume, this type of material sounds like a perfect fit for Eastwood, and we’ve no doubt that he’ll be able to deliver another stirring, powerful portrait of heroism with The 15:17 to Paris. That being said, as a few other outlets have already mentioned, the actual event that the film will be focusing on only lasted a few minutes, so it’ll be interesting to see how the director fleshes out the rest of the story and stretches it into a full-length feature.

There’s been no word yet on who Eastwood may have his eye on to star in The 15:17 to Paris, but you can bet that the project will attract some A-list talent. As always, watch this space for more.
