Xbox One’s Games With Gold Lineup For May Includes LEGO Star Wars And Force Unleashed II

Microsoft is aiming to get Xbox One and 360 owners to be one with the Force with May's Games With Gold lineup. Not one, but two Star Wars games will be completely free to download and play for all subscribers next month, including LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga and Star Wars The Force Unleashed II. That's a lot of Lightsabers and LEGO bricks.

As usual, your monthly platter of free entertainment is split between both of Microsoft’s consoles, with two games provided for each. Those still happy with their 360s will only have access to the two aforementioned games, while Xbox One owners get the lot. Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris and Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams round out the remainder of May’s attractive selection, and you can find the exact dates for each title’s availability below.

  • Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams – May 1-31
  • Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris – May 16-June 15
  • Star Wars The Force Unleashed II – May 1-15
  • LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga – May 16-31

The pick of the bunch this month is too close to call – they’re all worthy of your time, although LEGO Star Wars may just end up holding your attention the longest. Traveller’s Tales’ blocky take on the universe is packed full of in-jokes, secrets and homages to the film series, and it’ll take you a solid gaming session to find and see them all. Force Unleashed II, on the other hand, while terrific fun, never quite managed to live up to its predecessor’s acclaim, feeling a little too forced (excuse the pun) in comparison.

As for this month’s lineup, both Assassin’s Creed: Revelations and Ryse: Son of Rome are still available to download for nothing, although the cut-off date of April 30 is fast approaching, so don’t leave it too long to grab either!
