Patty Jenkins’ Wonder Woman Is The Complete Product And Has No Deleted Scenes

The DCEU has become known for its extended cuts released later on Blu-ray and DVD, with fans often making convincing arguments that the additional scenes edited into the home releases of films like Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice and Suicide Squad go some way towards rescuing their reputations. But, it looks like DC's latest effort, Wonder Woman won't be getting that same treatment for the simple reason that there literally isn't anything left on the cutting room floor to splice back in.

Collider asked director Patty Jenkins at the Wonder Woman press junket recently if there was a chance we’d see an extended cut at some point in the future, and she responded categorically, saying: “We didn’t cut one scene in this movie nor did we change the order of one scene in this movie from the script that we went in shooting with.” Given the current state of blockbuster production, with the plot often being rejigged in reshoots and subplots hyping up future films being added, this is definitely an impressive feat of directing.

It means that, for better or worse, the Wonder Woman we’ll be seeing in just over a week from now is the final version of the film, no ifs, no buts and no second chances. But then again, given the positive buzz we’re hearing from advance screenings, with one critic comparing it to Christopher Reeves’ Superman, it looks like Jenkins doesn’t have much to worry about and by all accounts, has finally produced the first unambiguously great DC Extended Universe movie.

We’ll find out for sure if that’s the case when Wonder Woman charges into theatres on June 2nd.
