We’re now less than two months away from Marvel and Netflix’s highly anticipated miniseries, The Defenders. The Avengers of the TV world, the eight-part show will unite the four heroes previously introduced in their own solo outings on the streaming service for the first time. Namely, Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist.

While we still await a second trailer for the show, which should be here soon, we now have these five new motion posters, which you can check out below. The first features the four of them together while the rest showcase each of the heroes in turn. The motion posters label each character with some personality traits that perfectly sum them up as well. The religious Matt Murdock is a “sinner” as well as a “savior.” Jessica Jones is both a “smart-ass” and a “bad-ass.” Luke Cage is “unbreakable” and “unstoppable” and Iron Fist is a “weapon” and a “warrior.” Nirvana’s “Come As You Are” also plays over the top, tying everything together.

In addition to that, Marvel and Netflix have also released a regular old-fashioned poster as well, which likewise stars all four Defenders united. They don’t have the colourful outfits of the Avengers, but you have to admit these guys have got the tough-looking glare thing down.

Despite its impending arrival, much of The Defenders is still wrapped in mystery. We don’t really know what will bring New York’s finest streetwise heroes together, though we’ve no doubt that Sigourney Weaver’s villain will be giving them a run for their money. But even then, we have no idea who the actress is truly playing – though rumours state that she’s a gender-swapped adaptation of crime boss Alexander Bont from the comics. Likewise, we don’t know how the mammoth supporting cast will fit in. For instance, how major a role will Elodie Yung play as the newly-resurrected Elektra? Time will tell, but we’re certainly excited to find out.

The Defenders stars Charlie Cox, Krysten Ritter, Mike Colter and Finn Jones and lands on the streaming service on August 18th.
