Marvel Has Kept The Avengers: Infinity War Script From Tom Holland

In today's digital age, it's undeniably harder to keep spoilers under wraps than ever before. Years ago, we had to wait for which of our favorite magazines had the latest exclusive to hit stands, but now, anyone with a cell phone has the potential to leak the juiciest of information onto the internet. Thus, it's very much understandable that the folks at Marvel Studios keep their cards as close to their vest as humanly possible when it comes to anything regarding Avengers: Infinity War.

And while none of us outside the blockbuster movie’s production have laid eyes on the script, you’d think that those starring in it know the score, right? Well, Tom Holland, Spider-Man himself, said otherwise when recently speaking with the Toronto Sun in an interview to promote Homecoming.

“I don’t know anything about it or what it’s about. I know who the villain is, but that’s it. They don’t let me read anything because I’m so bad at keeping secrets.”

If that’s not your cue to pull up a chair alongside Holland whenever he’s working on a huge movie, I don’t know what is. But, knowing how the studio has been building to Infinity War since the release of the first Iron Man back in 2008, well, it’s not hard to imagine why some compartmentalization has been put in place. Still, we expect him to be afforded a sizeable chunk of the screenplay at some point knowing that he’s set to receive a fair amount of screentime in the highly anticipated team-up.

Further on in the interview, Holland mentioned that Infinity War is project is of extraordinary magnitude, something we don’t doubt at all.

“Infinity War needs no teasing. That movie literally needs no teasing. It’s going to be the biggest movie of all time. Believe me; no one is ready for this movie.”

Bold words, to be sure, and we’ll find out if the actor is right when Avengers: Infinity War arrives in theatres on May 4th, 2018.
