Spider-Man: Homecoming’s Tom Holland Says Captain America “Would Be The Best Mentor”

Now that Peter Parker is firmly part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, lots of crossover opportunities are expected to be the norm. Actually, he dove into the deep end quicker than most characters given that he made his debut in Captain America: Civil War. Plus, there's also the fact that Iron Man is set to play a key role in Spider-Man: Homecoming.

Still, it doesn’t hurt to think about what lies ahead, especially since Marvel Studios plans out their movie slates far ahead of release. Now, we do know to expect other characters following in the footsteps of Tony Stark when it comes to being guests in future Spidey films, but beyond that, it’s all speculation at this point.

One who seems naturally fitted for such a role is that of Nick Fury, who came incredibly close to appearing in Homecoming before the creative minds ruled in favor of Iron Man. Interestingly enough, director Jon Watts is pulling for Blade, but we’re not so sure if Disney is ready to integrate the daywalker into a family friendly line of movies.

An easy choice would be that of Captain America, whom also sprung to the mind of actor Tom Holland himself when doing a fan Q&A for IMDb:

“He would be the best mentor I think. He’d be kind of boring. He’d be very strict, I think. But starting with him would be more freeing.”

As cool as that would be to see, we can’t be entirely sure that Steve Rogers will make it out of Avengers 4 alive. Still, you have to admit that any Cap – be it Rogers, Bucky Barnes or Sam Wilson – would make a welcome addition to Spider-Man: Homecoming‘s sequel.
