Kiersey Clemons Not Involved In Justice League Reshoots; Teases “Sick” Introduction For Iris West

Dope actress Kiersey Clemons has hinted at the "sick" introduction of her Iris West in Zack Snyder and Joss Whedon's Justice League.

The ongoing Justice League reshoots have fuelled heated debate online – no thanks to Henry Cavill’s Mission: Impossible 6 mustache, we might add – though one cast member who isn’t involved in Joss Whedon’s pick-ups whatsoever is Kiersey Clemons, who is all set to make her debut in the DC Extended Universe ahead of The Flash solo movie, which is now going by the name Flashpoint.

For the uninitiated, Clemons has signed on to play Iris West, the long-time love interest to Barry Allen (Ezra Miller) who will surely hold a prominent role in Flashpoint when the time comes. Of all the many standalone pics currently brewing in development, the Scarlet Speedster’s solo outing hasn’t exactly hit the ground running (pardon the pun), losing both Seth Grahame-Smith and Dope helmer Rick Famuyiwa due to creative differences.

It was a one-two punch that forced the Flash onto the backburner over at Warner Bros., though we’re now learning that erstwhile Han Solo directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller have come into contention. Talk about going full circle.

And though DC fans are longing for the day when Flashpoint makes a beeline for the silver screen, we can at least take solace in the fact that both Ezra Miller and Kiersey Clemons – not to mention Billy Crudup as Papa Allen – will crop up in Justice League later this year.

Chatting to Coming Soon about the role, Clemons hinted that the introduction of Iris West is “f**king sick,” all the while confirming that she isn’t involved in those ongoing reshoots.

Everyone’s asking me that. No, I finished all my stuff with Zack [Snyder], I wish him well and I have no idea what’s going on right now but I’m sure whatever they’re doing is necessary. I know the parts that I did introducing Iris are f—ing sick. I can’t wait to see the movie. I’m so happy that I’ve been introduced to this genre because I didn’t really have any type of desire to be a part of any superhero world. And then I stepped on the set of Justice League and I was like, ‘Holy s–t. Alright!’

When asked about the status of Flashpoint, though, the actress conceded that things are still up in the air as regards timing, but it seems January 2018 is the current target.

Yeah. I’m gonna leave tonight to go film. I’m gonna finish up the year, and then by January if we aren’t gonna go on The Flash I will probably get back to writing and then take a little break.

Justice League shoots for theaters on November 17th of this year.
