With the exception of Syfy’s bat-shit insane Sharknado series, few B-movies have achieved cult status as quickly as Tommy Wirkola’s Dead Snow.

First summoned to life in 2009, before the riotous Dead Snow: Red vs. Dead shuffled online five years later, fans have long wondered what the future holds for Wirkola’s undead series. Turns out it’s very bright indeed, as the writer-director is already plotting Dead Snow 3.

While doing the press rounds for his Noomi Rapace-starring Netflix sci-fi thriller, What Happened to Monday – similar to Orphan Black, it has the Swedish actor play multiple roles for an intense, mind-bending thrill ride – Tommy Wirkola sat down with Entertainment Weekly to discuss the immediate future of Dead Snow, revealing that he hopes to begin shooting a third film “in a few years” replete with zombie Hitler.

Just so you know, if you’re a fan of the Dead Snows, we’re hoping to make a third one in a few years. We’ve got to finish the trilogy, so I’m very excited about that. We’ve got to finish what we started, all of us! We have some ideas. I think it’s natural to maybe put some of the story in South America, where a lot of the Nazis fled, of course. We’ve got to top what we’ve done before. We have to bring back Hitler as well. Zombie-Hitler. That just feels natural.

So, there you have it; Dead Snow 3 is still a very real possibility, according to Wirkola, but beyond the inclusion of zombie Hitler, what are your hopes for the undead threequel? Indeed, do you think the Dead Snow franchise is worthy of a third instalment? Or do you feel as though it’s getting a little long in the tooth? As always, drop your thoughts in the usual place.
