Two weeks out from the film’s long-anticipated release in China, a host of international Spider-Man: Homecoming posters have swung online, placing Peter Parker alongside some of the country’s famous landmarks – namely Suzhou’s Hanshan Temple, Beijing Tower, and the Great Wall of China.

Perhaps most important of all, though, is the imminent revenue boon for Homecoming. Remember, China is currently the second biggest movie market on the planet, and therefore has a huge effect on a film’s box office total. Take Transformers: The Last Knight or even Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales as examples. Both summer blockbusters failed to leave much of an impression in North America, and were therefore forced to look overseas to offset huge production costs.

Spider-Man: Homecoming is a little different in that Jon Watts’ standalone pic, one that was received overly well by audiences, has racked up a commendable $318 million at the domestic box office. However, this imminent Chinese release will only push the film’s total figure – one that currently stands at $737m worldwide – even higher.

It’s currently penciled in for release on September 8th, which is actually a little later than expected. As previously reported, and despite most Hollywood blockbusters opening in China day and date with North America, Sony was forced to delay Homecoming‘s release in the country due to quotas, so it’ll be interesting to gauge whether that postponement has any kind of effect on box office receipts.

On a lighter note, the posters above shake things up by placing Peter Parker all across China, and those in the territory can look forward to Spider-Man: Homecoming releasing on September 8th.
