Star Wars The First Order

Executioner Stormtroopers Will Be Called The First Order Judicial In Star Wars: The Last Jedi

New intel relayed by Star Wars News Net confirms that the Executioner Stormtroopers of Star Wars: The Last Jedi have a very foreboding title.

On the eve of Force Friday II, some new intel for Star Wars: The Last Jedi has emerged online that brings us closer to the sequel’s heavily-armed Stormtroopers.

Previously known as the Executioners, Star Wars News Net is reporting that those Troopers will be referred to as the First Order Judicial in Rian Johnson’s December blockbuster. And for very good reason. According to the description relayed by SWNN, these faceless soldiers are the First Order’s last line of defense when it comes to rogue Stormtroopers (look away now, Finn), and they aren’t afraid to dish out the ultimate punishment.

All of this surely factors into Finn’s “dark mission,” after we learned that John Boyega’s unlikely hero is poised to go undercover in The Last Jedi alongside series newcomer, Rose (Kelly Marie Tran), a mechanic serving in the Resistance. Here’s that description, courtesy of Reddit:

The First Order can only operate effectively with the absolute loyalty of its followers. Should any soldier be found guilty of treason, it is up to this special branch of Stormtroopers to dispense final justice.

Could it be that the First Order has caught on to Finn’s mutiny and formed a special task force to deal with any other instances of treason? It’s possible. One way or another, the First Order Judicial will surely loom large over The Last Jedi, possibly even tracking Finn and Rose on their journey to the far-flung casino city of Canto Bight.

Expect to get an up-close look at those heavily-armed Troopers in action once Star Wars: The Last Jedi debuts on December 15th. Beyond that, the Star Wars faithful can also look forward to Ron Howard’s Han Solo anthology pic and Colin Trevorrow’s trilogy-capper, Episode IX. Neither project has been given an official title just yet – that we know of, mind you – and the same can be said of the newly-unveiled Obi-Wan Kenobi movie, which has Stephen Daldry on its radar as a potential director.
