This 7,541-Piece Millennium Falcon Star Wars LEGO Set Is The Stuff Dreams Are Made Of

In honor of Force Friday and Star Wars: The Last Jedi, LEGO has unveiled a 7,541-piece Millennium Falcon set. And it's the stuff dreams are made of.

You know the Taj Mahal LEGO collection? The one that became the largest set of all time in 2008 with a whopping 5,922 pieces? It’s no longer the world record-holder, as LEGO has today unveiled a new and improved model of the famous Millennium Falcon touting 7,541 pieces. And it’s the stuff dreams are made of.

Han Solo’s prized hunk of junk is one of the undisputed staples of the Star Wars franchise, and the designers at LEGO have gone to great lengths to create a stunningly accurate rendition of the Falcon, one that easily surpasses the Ultimate Collector’s Millennium Falcon of 2007 (5,195 pieces). From the Dejarik holographic board game to the interchangeable radar dishes – round sensor dish for the old trilogy and rectangular for The Force Awakens and beyond – this LEGO set is really a sight to behold, and will look good in any collection.

Of the 10 minifigs populating the highly-detailed interior sections, below you’ll find pint-sized figurines of Han, Princess Leia, Chewbacca, C-3PO and a buildable Mynock creature from Empire Strikes Back; old Han, Rey, Finn and BB-8 from 2015’s The Force Awakens; and a couple of porgs, the new cuddly creatures native to the far-flung planet of Ahch-To. No sign of those elderly Caretakers, though.

Set to swoop onto store shelves on October 1st, this mighty Millennium Falcon set will cost you a pretty penny – $799, to be exact. So expect it to worm its way onto more than a few Christmas wish-lists.

Next up for the Star Wars universe is the release of The Last Jedi on December 15th, before Ron Howard invites moviegoers back in time to explore the origins of a certain Han Solo. May 25th is the date for your diaries, while we understand Colin Trevorrow’s trilogy-capper, the so-far untitled Episode IX, has been penciled in for May of 2019.
