Justice League is currently undergoing reshoots, that much we know. What we don’t know, though, is just what’s being changed/added/cut from the pic. Rumors and speculation continue to run rampant online, however, with reports pointing to everything from removing several characters to a drastic overhaul of the tone of the film being the focus of this additional shooting. To date, though, Warner Bros. has kept quiet on what exactly’s going on.
Things will likely stay that way, too, but that doesn’t mean we won’t be getting anymore hints as to just what Joss Whedon and his team are up to. Case in point:Â Madeleine Vall Beijner, who played an Amazon warrior in Wonder Woman, posted the below photo on Instagram today, along with the following caption:
In less than three weeks I will be reunited with these badass amazon warriors again!! Also, in Themiscyra (Italy) at the same location where we were shooting the movie #WONDERWOMAN
Now, while she doesn’t explicitly say that she’s going to be filming additional scenes for Justice League, it doesn’t take a genius to put two and two together. Judging by her post, it seems pretty likely that Whedon is going to be adding more of Themiscyra into the movie and thus, more of Gal Gadot’s Diana Prince – or at least, we assume that’d be the case. And though the context of these scenes is unknown, more Wonder Woman can only be a good thing, right?
Justice League swoops into theaters on November 17th, when the blockbuster will become the fifth entry into the DC Extended Universe to date. But can it channel the smashing success of Patty Jenkins’ recent blockbuster? Or will it struggle to overcome the hurdles and production woes that befell Suicide Squad? Only time will tell.
Beyond 2017, and aside from locking down a late 2019 release date for Wonder Woman 2, Warner Bros. has been coy about its future plans for the DCEU, but there have been rumblings that David Sandberg’s Shazam movie – a film that is seemingly much more light-heartened when compared to the rest of WB’s superhero output – is next in line to enter production ahead of its debut in the early stages of 2019.
