Star Wars: The Last Jedi Theory Suggests Rey Will Lose A Limb Come December

Is Rey a Skywalker? Perhaps, but according to Star Wars superfan and author Tomas Pueyo, Daisy Ridley’s heroine will suffer a grisly injury when The Last Jedi steamrolls into theaters in December.

Included in the soon-to-be-published novel, The Star Wars Rings – The Hidden Structure Behind the Story, Pueyo stipulates that Daisy Ridley’s budding Jedi will lose a limb during her struggle against the First Order, as it aligns with the arc of Luke and Anakin Skywalker. Not only that, but The Hidden Structure Behind the Story, which will be available from September 19th, goes on to claim that Rey is, in fact, a Skywalker, and the twin sister to Ben Solo (AKA Kylo Ren).

But before we delve into that potential megaton, here’s what Pueyo had to say about the possibility of Rey losing a limb. Exactly which limb gets amputated remains to be seen, but we imagine Daisy Ridley’s protagonist will lose an arm. Providing there’s any truth to these claims.

Rey loses a limb: Limb cutting happens all the time in all the Star Wars movies, but in second movie of each trilogy, limbs are cut from ring characters. For example, at the end of episode 2, Anakin loses his hand to Count Dooku, and at the end of episode 4, Luke loses his forearm to Darth Vader. It’s a pattern now, so it’s possible Rey will lose a limb by the end of The Last Jedi.

Beyond that, when it comes to Rey’s father, The Hidden Structure Behind the Story whittles down the list to three: Luke, Han Solo, and Obi-Wan Kenobi. It’s admittedly a bit of a stretch, but have a gander at this extract below and let us know what you think.

There’s speculation that Luke, Obi-Wan or even Han-Solo could be Rey’s father, and it’s possible Leia is her mother. This would mean that Kylo Ren and Rey are twins, like Luke and Leia before them, and these twins represent light and darkness. It would also be a surprise, like the revelation that Darth Vader was Luke’s father.

All will be revealed once The Last Jedi hits theaters on December 15th, before J.J. Abrams closes out the current trilogy with Episode IX in 2019 – and that’s December of 2019, after Lucasfilm chose to delay its Star Wars threequel by a full seven months.
