Zack Snyder Reflects On Justice League Exit: “I’ve Kind Of Let Them Do Their Thing”

Four months after vacating the director's chair, Zack Snyder has turned in a candid interview on Justice League and his newly-released short.

Four long months have passed since Zack Snyder vacated the director’s chair on Justice League to tend to a personal tragedy, and in light of his newly-released short film Snow Steam Iron, the DC stalwart has posted a candid interview on life after Justice League.

Zack Snyder and wife/producing partner Deborah will still be credited for their extensive work laying the foundations for what is undoubtedly Warner’s most ambitious DCEU movie to date, but after stepping down back in May, Zack Snyder admitted that he “kind of just let them do their thing” to shepherd Justice League over the finish line.

And though online rumors stated otherwise, Snyder also stressed that it would be “unfair” to waltz back onto the set after such a lengthy break, and believes those involved – namely two-time Avengers director Joss Whedon – are doing an “amazing job” in executing on his original vision, which remains firmly intact in spite of all the speculation.

Per Wired, here’s what Snyder had to say when asked to reflect on his Justice League exit:

I’m at a place where I feel excited about it and I’m happy for my guys and I love these people that are working on it, and they’re my family and I think they’re doing an amazing job. But I’ve kind of just let them do their thing.

Once Joss Whedon was drafted in, the former Marvel director seemingly ordered extensive reshoots involving Wayne Manor, Diana Prince and the isle of Theymiscra. Out of all six heroes, Gal Gadot’s Amazonian is said to have the greatest understanding of Steppenwolf, the film’s primary antagonist, so it’s small wonder why Whedon wanted to incorporate additional Wonder Woman scenes.

Justice League will see a release on November 17th, and it’ll purportedly feature not one, but two Green Lanterns. Chalk that up as mere conjecture for now, but it would definitely align with those claims that Joss Whedon has “significantly altered” the final cut.
