Before we get into the weeds, we should warn you that this latest report is riddled with potential story spoilers for the film and, in particular, those scenes involving Rey and Luke Skywalker aboard Ahch-To.

Granted, there’s a very good chance these speculative tidbits – tidbits compiled by UK outlet Daily Express – are complete hogwash, but then again, these types of rumors have turned out to be true before. Our advice? Approach these unfounded nuggets of info with a heightened sense of caution, which is almost becoming second nature for Star Wars fans at this stage in the game.

With that disclaimer out of the way, the Daily Express asserts that The Last Jedi will see Rey go up against a 12-foot sea monster as part of her Jedi training, and points to a recent behind-the-scenes photo, one which placed Rian Johnson in an underwater tank, as evidence. Couple this with Daisy Ridley’s intense water training at Pinewood and it would seem Rey is about to brave the elements come December.

Going one step further, and after her spectacular fight with the so-far unnamed sea creature – a “terrifying” sea creature that allegedly required seven people to operate – The Last Jedi will also see Rey and Luke plunge beneath the waves to locate a mysterious artifact. Leaked merchandise has previously claimed that Luke’s original X-Wing resides in Ahch-To’s oceans, while there’s also mention of ancient cave paintings and the all-powerful Force Tree, which was first referenced in the sequel’s initial teaser trailer.

Finally, the Daily Express finishes by suggesting that that tree holds all Jedi books, and is one of the main reasons why Luke fled to Ahch-To in the first place. But can all of this be true?

All will be revealed once Star Wars: The Last Jedi shoots for theaters on December 15th.
