Evil is about to get schooled!

At long last, Starz has finally opened up about season 3 of their hit series, Ash vs. Evil Dead. Given that the show usually hosts it season premieres in October, fans had been concerned about the radio silence we’ve been getting, but earlier this morning, the network revealed that it’ll return early next year – on February 25th, to be exact.

According to a press release sent out by Starz, season 3 will bring with it 10 new episodes that’ll feature “more grisly battles, ghoulish banter and more blood-drenched fun than ever.” Furthermore, Ash will now be seen as a “humanity-saving hometown hero” when things pick back up, as the plot synopsis teases the following:

“The third season finds Ash’s status in Elk Grove, Michigan has changed from murderous urban legend to humanity-saving hometown hero. When Kelly witnesses a televised massacre with Ruby’s fingerprints all over it, she returns with a new friend to warn Ash and Pablo that evil isn’t done with them yet. Blood is thicker than water in the battle of good vs Evil Dead!”

For those unfamiliar – and if you haven’t watched it yet, you really should – Ash vs. Evil Dead sees Bruce Campbell reprise his career-defining role of Ash Williams, from the original Evil Dead trilogy. Set 30 years after the events of those films, the show finds Ash working as a sales clerk in the local ValueShop. There, he’s a womanizing drunk and accidentally reads aloud the incantation from the Book Of The Dead again – bringing forth demonic forces once more. The show was developed by Sam Raimi, Ivan Raimi, and Tom Spezialy, and co-stars Lucy Lawless, Dana DeLorenzo, Ray Santiago, Ted Raimi and Lee Majors.

So, there you have it. Ash vs. Evil Dead will return to Starz early next year! Tell us, though, what are you most excited about seeing in season 3? Take to the comments section and give us your thoughts!
