Breathe, Star Wars fans…just breathe, for Lucasfilm is about to lift the lid on The Last Jedi‘s second trailer.
And though Mark Hamill almost spoiled the surprise late last month, it’s since been confirmed that tonight’s edition of Monday Night Football will host the big reveal, with the actual footage expected to drop around 7pm PST/10pm EST. We will, of course, keep you right up-to-date as time wears on, but it’s worth remembering that October 9th stands as something of a double whammy for the Star Wars community, given that Lucasfilm is also expected to launch ticket sales later this evening.
To keep budding fans in the loop, StarWars.com has detailed all of the special offers and opening night events that will be taking place across North America. From exclusive merchandise and artwork to advanced screenings, there’s a treasure trove of goodies to be found here, while it’s also been confirmed that select theaters will be hosting back-to-back screenings of The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi come December.
And given that Rian Johnson’s upcoming sequel is said to kick off mere moments after Rey touches down on Ahch-To, that ought to be a fairly seamless transition from one Star Wars film to another.
If you’re wanting to go all-in on the Star Wars experience, there are certain chains that will be staging eight-film marathons, which also come packing “exclusive content, Star Wars collectible cards, and a special concession offer. Plus, Star Wars: The Last Jedi will start at 6pm local time, one hour earlier than regular public show times.”
IMAX screenings of Star Wars: The Last Jedi are also available via AMC Theaters and Regal, and will take place from December 17th through until January 7th. Expect further details on those to emerge over the coming weeks.

Disneyland Resort
Join your fellow Star Wars fans at Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California, the place where Star Wars lives, to watch the trailer for Star Wars: The Last Jedi on a giant screen outside AMC Downtown Disney 12 Theatres in the Downtown Disney District. The fun begins at 5:00pm with a live DJ, games and giveaways, counting down to the trailer release.
The war between the Resistance and the First Order rages on when Star Wars: The Last Jedi zooms into theaters on December 15th. It’ll be followed in quick succession by a Han Solo origin story, one poised to continue Lucasfilm’s anthology saga, before the untitled Episode IX debuts in 2019. And that’s December of 2019, now that J.J. Abrams has been drafted in to replace the ousted Colin Trevorrow.
