Looks like the first trailer for Universal’s Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom will be arriving a little later than expected.

Prior to Screen Rant’s findings, November had been earmarked as the alleged release window – for the record, Universal dropped the original Jurassic World teaser during Thanksgiving Weekend three years ago – but we’re now learning that the Powers That Be will instead choose to premiere Fallen Kingdom‘s first-look promo in front of Star Wars: The Last Jedi come December.

Take this one with a pinch of salt, as Universal is yet to announce anything official, but Instagram user ‘dirtees’ was in attendance at London’s recent Brand Licensing Expo, where the monstrous sequel enjoyed a fairly big showcase. The outlet claims Fallen Kingdom‘s initial trailer will be with us on December 13th, before being attached to the prints of The Last Jedi in order to reach as wide an audience as possible.

Per Instagram:

Story details are few and far between, but there have been rumblings of a spectacular underwater scene, one in which a submarine goes up against an aquatic dinosaur (a mesosaurus, perhaps?). The real question is whether it can rival the grand finale of Colin Trevorrow’s juggernaut from two years ago, but an InGen force locking horns with an underwater behemoth will surely leave eyes wide and tongues wagging come 2018.

It’s supposedly scarier and a “little bit darker” than the first, as is par of the course for a Hollywood sequel, and we’ll find out what all the fuss is about when Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom stomps into theaters on June 22nd, 2018. $1.6 billion is the figure to beat, given Colin Trevorrow’s franchise revival blew past all expectations to become one of the highest-grossing films of all time – only Avatar, Titanic, and Star Wars: The Force Awakens have grossed more. No pressure, then.
