Assassin’s Creed: Origins Gets Scene-Setting Live Action Trailer Ahead Of Launch

Less than two weeks remain until Ubisoft's sleuthing, historical action-adventure series returns with Assassin's Creed: Origins, and to celebrate, its released a fancy new trailer to whet the appetites of the would-be assassins among you. It's a live action piece, so you won't be getting any further look at Origins' gameplay - there's plenty of that to devour here - instead, "I Am," as it's so-called, is all about setting the scene ahead of launch later this month.

That includes a large helping of Ancient Egyptian iconography, of course, including pyramids, bathhouses and the excessive use of gold at every opportunity, as well as some cryptic narration from an unseen character – likely one of those assassin folk, given his mention of being in with a certain secret group. That narrows it down a bit, but you never know, it could be the ramblings of an antagonistic Templar we’re hearing.

Concerning the trailer’s intricacies, there’s nothing plot significant or spoiler-heavy to mention; a short montage of sinister activities – snakes concealed under the sheets, men being drowned in their own bath water, that sort of thing – unravel towards the trailer’s end, only to reveal a distinctly-clothed individual (read: Assassin) watching over scenes of unrest unfolding in a settlement.

Assassin’s Creed: Origins is out on October 27 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC and casts players in the role of Bayek, a Medjay caught in the crossroads of a feud between Pharoah Ptolemy XIII and his sister, Cleopatra. As usual, expect the latest iteration in the series to take some artistic liberties with the facts. You know, for entertainment’s sake.
