It’s official, the entertainment industry will pounce on anything and everything supernatural in the hopes of making a few bucks. CBS and Sony have announced they are in the process of developing a remake of the classic TV series Bewitched, according to Entertainment Weekly.

If you thought the 2005 remake starring Will Ferrell and Nicole Kidman was terrible, you would be correct. Despite the film’s 25% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, its producers are going to be involved in the show’s production.

That doesn’t mean the show won’t do well (at first, anyways). The concept of Bewitched will always be interesting, and generations of people have fallen in love with housewife Samantha Stephens’ witchy little secret. However, to do this right, the show needs to be modernized. Hopefully CBS won’t bog down this remake with corny humor, laugh tracks and wacky hijinks, 1960s-style.
