Of all the dialogue included in Star Wars: The Last Jedi‘s intense first trailer, that grave warning from Luke Skywalker is arguably the more prescient of the bunch, as it also reflects how we, the audience, feel upon seeing the next chapter in Lucasfilm’s Skywalker saga unfold.

Ever since The Last Jedi‘s grand reveal early last week, the Internet has been awash with weird and wonderful fan theories concerning Rey, Kylo Ren, Luke Skywalker and Supreme Leader Snoke, and how they all intertwine. To make matters more interesting, Lucasfilm’s much-touted promo was edited in such a way that, by the time the sequel’s crimson title appeared on screen, the Star Wars community was left with more questions than answers. And isn’t that what a trailer is all about?

On a more general note, Andy Serkis, who lends his booming voice to Supreme Leader Snoke, believes the Mouse House knocked it out of the park, as The Last Jedi‘s latest promo “absolutely reflects the tone and feel” of Rian Johnson’s long-anticipated sequel.

Per IGN:

I thought the trailer was spectacular, and very intense. It absolutely reflects the tone and the feel of the movie… I do think this movie is going to really surprise people with its plotline and story and its tension in it.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi will see a release on December 15th, and word is it’ll herald our first look at both Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom and Ron Howard’s untitled Han Solo spinoff. Meanwhile, Serkis is also involved in another big-name tentpole coming by way of Disney, as he’s set to reprise the role of black-market arms dealer Ulysses Klaue for Black Panther. Look for that one to scurry into US theaters on February 16th, 2018.
