Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige isn’t one to divulge too much, too soon – hence the level of secrecy swirling around Phase 4 – but when pressed about the status of Avengers: Infinity War‘s first teaser, Feige confirmed that said promo should be online “before the end of the year.” And not much else.

Alas, one would assume that Marvel will piggyback on Thor: Ragnarok‘s release in November, particularly when you consider that December belongs to a little-known sequel called Star Wars: The Last Jedi. Besides, the Powers That Be over at Marvel have a long track record of attaching trailers to fellow MCU movies – think of how Ragnarok‘s initial teaser released in and around the same corridor as Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 earlier in the year. And then there’s the launch of Justice League (November 17th) to consider.

So, there’s plenty of chances for the House of Ideas to drop the preview on us, but until they make some kind of official announcement, we’ve got the next best thing: an updated logo. Seen in the gallery below, it comes courtesy of Marvel Comics’ solicitations for their publishing line in January 2018. Of course, it doesn’t reveal anything at all about the film, but it’s a sleek, polished and more eye-catching take on the original logo, even if it’s not terribly different.

Sure, it may not be very exciting, but as we inch closer and closer to the new year, you can bet that Marvel will really start ramping up the marketing for this one. Especially once Ragnarok is out of the way.

For now, though, what we can tell you is that Joe and Anthony Russo’s landmark event movie is currently on course for a release on May 4th, 2018, and it’ll herald the advent of Josh Brolin’s Mad Titan and his squadron of galactic accomplices. Yes, after much foreshadowing, we know Thanos to be the primary antagonist of the Russo Brothers’ ensemble piece, who wages an Infinity War to bring ‘balance’ back to the universe. Standing in his way are Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, along with some of their newfound allies: Spider-Man, for one, along with the Guardians of the Galaxy, Black Panther, and even Loki, who appeared to be holding the Tesseract in that leaked teaser trailer.

Packed to the rafters with scene-stealing chemistry and “intense surprises,” Avengers: Infinity War is now less than a year away, while the fourth, so-far untitled Avengers film will follow it in May of 2019, by which point viewers will be acquainted with Brie Larson’s Carol Danvers and her ’90s-set origin story. March 8th, 2019 is the date for your diaries for that one.
