Baby Driver Actress Eiza González Tipped For Catwoman Role In Gotham City Sirens

Baby Driver actress Eiza González is the latest star to come into contention for Gotham City Sirens, according to one eagle-eyed fan.

From Haley Bennett to Game of Thrones mainstay Lena Headey, Warner’s Gotham City Sirens spinoff movie has purportedly piqued the curiosity of countless big-name actresses. And we’re now learning that Eiza González is the latest star to be thrown into the mix.

Best known for her scene-stealing performance as Darling in Edgar Wright’s Baby Driver, González has been tipped to play Catwoman for Warner Bros. and David Ayer, after a handful of DC fans noticed that the director is now following González on Twitter. Hardly what one would call a sure-fire confirmation, but it’s also worth mentioning that DC Films head Geoff Johns also follows the actress via social media.

Adding fuel to the fire, Eiza González recently shared photos of her dressed in black catsuits – photos that came bearing the caption, “the uniform lately,” so take from that what you will. Another thing worth mentioning is the fact that González is now sporting a cropped haircut, as you’ll see from the compilation below.

Per Reddit:

Again, this is admittedly a bit of a stretch. At 27 years old, Eiza González may be too young to play Selina Kyle opposite the likes of Ben Affleck (The Batman, Justice League), who’s already the wrong side of 40. Still, from what we understand, David Ayer’s Gotham City Sirens will primarily focus on Harley Quinn, Poison Ivy, and Catwoman, so there’s a chance Warner Bros. will roll the dice and cast González alongside Margot Robbie (Suicide Squad 2), who also holds a producer credit on the embryonic spinoff.

Gotham City Sirens is one of many, many DC tentpoles currently incubating in development, but come November, Warner Bros. will be bracing for the biggest film of the lot: Justice League. Expect Zack Snyder’s ensemble piece to light up theaters on November 17th.
