Marvel’s latest sequel comes from acclaimed director Taika Waititi, who takes the standard “Thor formula” and breaks it into an 80s album cover with big jokes and stylistic surprises. Does the movie live up to the hype, though? The Cinemaholics are divided, so be sure to let us know if you agree or disagree with their discussion.

Later in the show, they chat Stranger Things Season 2, the highly-anticipated follow-up to last year’s breakout series on Netflix, while there’s also talk about Wonderstruck, a new Amazon Studios film from Todd Haynes (Carol) and starring Oakes Fegley, Millicent Simmonds, Julianne Moore, and Michelle Williams.

Finally, the gang gets into The Killing of a Sacred Deer from Yorgos Lanthimos (Dogtooth, The Lobster), which is a new horror thriller starring Colin Farrell, Nicole Kidman, Barry Keoghan, and Alicia Silverstone, and Jon also finds time to gush about Super Mario Odyssey, the latest blockbuster game for the Nintendo Switch.
