TriStar Pictures is swinging for the fences when it comes to its fabled Chronicles of Narnia reboot.

Six years after Voyage of the Dawn Treader limped miserably into theaters, the studio is said to be mounting a new take on C.S. Lewis’ fantasy epic, beginning with an adaptation of The Silver Chair. It’s a reboot that has languished in pre-production for almost a year, but That Hashtag Show brings word of an exciting new development: Millie Bobby Brown has reportedly been offered the chance to spearhead TriStar’s revival.

The Stranger Things actress is arguably one of the biggest child actors on the planet, and is already beginning to make in-roads into Hollywood thanks to her involvement in Godzilla: King of the Monsters – look for that one to debut in March of 2019.

As for this potential casting coup, That Hashtag Show warns that this offer was allegedly made in April, right around the time that TriStar announced Joe Johnston (Captain America: The First Avenger) as The Silver Chair‘s director. As such, it’s unclear if Millie Bobby Brown has decided to pass up The Chronicles of Narnia, or if the actress is still in the midst of negotiations – it’s a stretch, but we imagine a handful of other major studios have approached Brown, who won over the hearts and minds of Netflix subscribers in the role of Eleven, for which she was nominated for an Emmy award.

Story-wise, The Silver Chair largely revolves around Jill Pole and Eustace Scrubb’s quest to find a missing prince, and it’s an adventure that takes our pint-sized heroes all around Narnia and its fanatical realms.

Of course, film fans will be overly familiar with Lewis’ work thanks to the previous two Narnia adaptations, though the real question is whether TriStar can resurrect this dormant franchise and make it relevant once again. Casting Millie Bobby Brown is certainly a good place to start, mind you, providing this deal falls into place.
