Buy RAGE New And Get Access To Its Sewers

What is it with post-apocalyptic worlds and their dimly lit sewers, filled with potential danger? During an interview with Eurogamer, id Software creative director, Tim Willits, mentioned that sewers spread around the game world in RAGE, will be opened up for those who purchase the game new. What is it with post-apocalyptic worlds and their dimly lit sewers, filled with potential danger?

During an interview with Eurogamer, id Software creative director, Tim Willits, mentioned that sewers spread around the game world in RAGE, will be opened up for those who purchase the game new. It’s a special option that consumers who buy the game used will have to pay extra for.

Personally, I find this strange, considering sewers usually aren’t very popular inclusions in video games. This could potentially bother some fans, but Willits tried to calm the storm by saying that:

“Most people never even see it. I can tell you, some people will buy Rage, download that, and still never set foot in those things. They just won’t. I think that’s fair. It’s cool. It’s outside the main path. We’re not detracting from anything. But I know some consumers, when you can’t avoid it, then you get a little touchy subject.”

Are you someone who would purchase a game new just to have access to a sewer system within a destroyed world? Who knows what could be down there, which is both an upside and a downside, I guess. Or, are you someone who isn’t interested in walking in those dirty duldrums? Let us know in the comments.
