Regardless of the box office numbers, Joe and Anthony Russo’s star-studded sequel will help celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which flickered into life with the release of Iron Man back in 2008. Since then, and after Nick Fury launched his fabled Avengers Initiative, the MCU has evolved into one of the biggest and most lucrative brands in entertainment, so it’s small wonder why comic book fans are on tenterhooks in anticipation of the next big step. And it really is a big one.

In case you missed it, Marvel has finally confirmed that the Avengers: Infinity War teaser will be with us tomorrow, November 29th, while Spidey himself, Tom Holland, took to Instagram and ‘accidentally’ unveiled the sequel’s official poster (spoilers: it retains the same form factor as the previous Avengers one-sheets, with the giant ‘A’ overshadowing just about everything else in its midst).

But before we get swept up in the Avengers and their quest to defeat Thanos, comic book scribe Craig Kyle (Logan, X-23) has shared a rather wonderful new group photo that brings together all of the MCU’s leading ladies.

From left to right, we see Zoe Saldana (Guardians of the Galaxy), Tessa Thompson (Thor: Ragnarok), Brie Larson (Captain Marvel), Scarlett Johansson (Avengers 4), Danai Gurira (Black Panther), Karen Gillan (Guardians of the Galaxy), Evangeline Lilly (Ant-Man and the Wasp) and Pom Klementieff, who broke into the MCU with her hilarious turn as Mantis in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.

It makes for quite the ensemble, too, and we can only hope that Kevin Feige and the Powers That Be over at Marvel dedicate the necessary resources to a female-fronted spinoff in the not-so-distant future. Hell, the studio has purportedly scheduled 20 movies (!) beyond Avengers: Infinity War, so it’s almost unthinkable that Marvel wouldn’t devote at least a few projects to its leading ladies, right?
