Prince William And Harry’s Star Wars: The Last Jedi Cameos Were Cut

Two years ago, The Force Awakens was teeming with super-secret celebrity cameos – Simon Pegg (Unkar Plutt), Daniel Craig (Stormtrooper) and Billie Lourd (Lieutenant Connix)…to name but three – and it seems Star Wars: The Last Jedi is no different.

On the eve of release, we can now tell you that Rian Johnson’s entry into that galaxy far, far away will have a plethora of familiar faces to look out for. Including, but not limited to, Tom Hardy, Gary Barlow, Justin Theroux, Joseph Gordon-Levitt (a regular cohort of Johnson’s, following Brick and Looper), Noah Segan, Rogue One director Gareth Edwards and Warwick Davis who, like Theroux, appears amid the crowds of Canto Bight, the flashy Star Wars equivalent of Las Vegas.

But wait a second, you’re probably saying right now. Where are Prince William and Harry on that list? That’s a very good question, and one that we have the answer to, thankfully. Though the Brits did indeed shoot a cameo for The Last Jedi, John Boyega revealed on ITV’s This Morning that they’ve been cut from the film.

“They cut it out,” he said. “I did personally apologize to them yesterday and said, ‘Sorry you were cut out of the film.’ Will was like, ‘I probably just need to work more on the skill.’”

Not unlike Daniel Craig before them, the Princes would have played two nondescript Stormtroopers who will be seen marshaling Boyega’s Finn into an elevator, presumably on board one of the First Order’s many Star Destroyers. Or, by the same line of thinking, Snoke’s super-sized Supremacy, a space vessel spanning 60km in length.

Championed as a jaw-dropping and spectacular continuation of the Star Wars saga, The Last Jedi is prepped and ready for launch. Rian Johnson’s celebrity-filled sequel has already begun its rollout overseas, and will light up the domestic box office on December 15th.
