New Avengers: Infinity War Poster Finds Captain America In A Burning Wakanda

Is there another Marvel setting that evokes the same feelings of awe and wonder as Wakanda? Sure, Asgard has its gilded corridors of power - not to mention the resplendent Bifröst Bridge - but when it comes to sheer spectacle, Wakanda is practically in a league of its own. That was one of the big concerns going into Ryan Coogler's Black Panther movie: how will Marvel's special effects gurus render such a wondrous, ultra-futuristic utopia?

Sure, Asgard has its gilded corridors of power – not to mention the resplendent Bifröst Bridge – but when it comes to sheer spectacle, Wakanda is practically in a league of its own. That was one of the big concerns going into Ryan Coogler’s Black Panther: how will Marvel’s special effects gurus render such a wondrous, ultra-futuristic utopia?

Well, if the initial trailers for the film are any indication, Coogler and his team have knocked it out of the park, laying the foundation for what will supposedly be a big, operatic family drama centering on T’Challa, the would-be king of Wakanda. But that won’t be the only time in the near future when we take a trip to the fictional country, as Avengers: Infinity War will be heading back there as well, and it’s a location that’s featured prominently on this brand new poster we have for you below, which sees none other than a bearded Captain America front and centre as the city burns down behind him.

Believe it or not, this is actually a fan-made effort. We know, it looks like the real thing and is a piece of marketing that Marvel could easily use in their promotional campaign. But no, this comes to us from a very talented individual and is yet another great, unofficial poster for Infinity War which once again, puts the studio’s marketing to shame. To date, we’ve only seen a single one-sheet from the House of Ideas and it was hugely underwhelming, so these fan-made efforts are much appreciated and should help tide everyone over until Marvel starts putting out the good stuff.

After 10 years and 17 films’ worth of build-up – Black Panther notwithstanding – Avengers: Infinity War is finally prepped and ready to deliver a huge climax on May 4th, 2018. Select international countries, including the United Kingdom, will welcome Marvel’s sequel a little early, too, which only highlights the continuing importance of the overseas box office.

Not only that, but if the film’s official plot synopsis (below) is to be believed, Earth’s Mightiest Heroes will be facing their deadliest showdown, ever.

An unprecedented cinematic journey ten years in the making and spanning the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe, Marvel Studios’ ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ brings to the screen the ultimate, deadliest showdown of all time. The Avengers and their Super Hero allies must be willing to sacrifice all in an attempt to defeat the powerful Thanos before his blitz of devastation and ruin puts an end to the universe.

I think it’s safe to say that we all feel like next May can’t come soon enough.
