“Before creation itself, there were six singularities. Then the universe exploded into existence, and the remnants of these systems were forged into concentrated ingots – Infinity Stones.”

That is, in a nutshell, the cosmic prologue to Avengers: Infinity War, Marvel’s marquee tentpole that assembles the biggest and most diverse team of costumed crusaders the MCU has ever seen.

From long-time veterans in the vein of Captain America to Doctor Strange, the enchanting newcomer of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, the Infinity War character roster is enough to leave comic book fans on the edge of their seat. But there’s still some apprehension amid all of the infectious excitement.

Avengers: Infinity War is far and away the biggest film in Marvel history – so far, at least – but it also raises the stakes quite considerably – so much so that Joe and Anthony Russo’s mega-movie will seemingly deliver a sucker punch within the opening five minutes. According to MCU boss Kevin Feige, it’s a scene that helps establish Thanos as the ultimate villain, one capable of crushing the Avengers with his giant, purple hands. Eek!

Thankfully, a graphic designer by the name of ‘maxwellthebeech’ has brought some levity to the table with a smart and delightfully simple poster. We’ve included it in the gallery down below, along with a few others that have surfaced recently.

First spotted by ComicBook.com, the one-sheet itself sees Scott Lang (AKA Ant-Man) take matters into his own tiny hands, as Paul Rudd’s wise-cracking Avenger prepares to throw a punch from the safety of…Thanos’ ear.

Equal parts brave and stupid, this hypothetical scenario would certainly flip the tables on Marvel’s Mad Titan, who is likely so busy worrying about the Black Order and those aforementioned Infinity Stones that he overlooks the miniature Ant-Man. If nothing else, this artwork is a timely reminder of Lang’s abilities, which may well come in handy when the lights go down on May 4th. And that’s before we even consider Giant-Man.

Expect Joe and Anthony Russo’s supercharged spectacle to unfurl when Avengers: Infinity War hits theaters in 2018.
