Bruce Willis Has A Death Wish In Blistering New Trailer For The Eli Roth Remake

MGM has today launched the second, balls-to-the-wall trailer for Death Wish, the Eli Roth remake headed up by Bruce Willis.

Action veteran Bruce Willis toes the line between good and evil – between guardian angel and grim reaper – in the second, balls-to-the-wall trailer for Death Wish, the hardboiled remake locked in for March 2nd.

Initially scheduled for release in November, before MGM shielded Eli Roth’s actioner from the back-to-back launch of Justice League and Thor: Ragnarok, Death Wish places ol’ Willis in the scrubs of Paul Kersey, a decorated doctor who takes matters into his own hands after his wife and daughter are brutally attacked in their suburban home.

And so, Kersey becomes the archetypal vigilante – a no-nonsense, one-man army willing to mow down anyone and everyone standing between him and his family. Because let’s face it: how many times have we seen some variation of the tagline “how far would you go to protect your family?” It’s the foundation on which most revenge stories are built, but this supercharged redo of the 1974 original, one which sees a white hero killing off criminals on his own accord, may be construed by some as a glorification of gun violence.

The official logline is as follows:

Dr. Paul Kersey (Bruce Willis) is a surgeon who only sees the aftermath of his city’s violence when it is rushed into his ER – until his wife (Elisabeth Shue) and college-age daughter (Camila Morrone) are viciously attacked in their suburban home. With the police overloaded with crimes, Paul, burning for revenge, hunts his family’s assailants to deliver justice. As the anonymous slayings of criminals grabs the media’s attention, the city wonders if this deadly avenger is a guardian angel or a grim reaper. Fury and fate collide in the intense action-thriller Death Wish.

Meanwhile, the cast is rounded out by Daredevil‘s Vincent D’Onofrio, Elisabeth Shue, Camila Morrone, Jack Kesy, Dean Norris (Breaking Bad), Beau Knapp, Kirby Bliss Blanton, and Mike Epps.

Expect Death Wish to release nationwide on March 2nd.
