The CW Boss Says He’s Confident Arrowverse Shows Will Be Renewed

The CW's crop of Arrowverse shows - Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl and Legends of Tomorrow - may currently be on hiatus, but they're still making headlines on an almost daily basis. From new promos to photos teasing what's to come, there's certainly been much to keep fans busy as they wait for their favorite heroes to return. But one thing that hasn't arrived yet is renewals for any of these series and understandably, people are starting to get concerned.

According to CW president Mark Pedowitz though, there’s nothing to worry about, as he says that he’s confident each show will be returning for a new season next year. Speaking this weekend at a TCA panel, Pedowitz explained that it’s simply too soon and they should be making an announcement in a couple of weeks.

“At the moment, it’s a little too soon,” he says. “We’re noted for announcing at winter TCA that we’re picking up shows, we just weren’t ready to do that yet. A couple more weeks [and] we’ll probably get around to it. I’m pretty confident we’ll see them all back.”

Continuing on, Pedowitz said that he just needs to discuss things with the board, but again, he’s confident that almost everything on the network’s schedule will be renewed.

“It is only January 7. It’s just a question of the board and I getting together and having a discussion about it. We just weren’t ready with the holidays and this came days later. We’ll get there. I’m confident most of our schedule is coming back.”

Though we’ll all be able to breathe a lot easier once those official renewals are handed out, Pedowitz’s comments here are certainly reassuring. There’s no reason to doubt him and it’s clear that he understands fans are concerned. With that in mind, we imagine it’s only a matter of time before The CW makes some kind of announcement. Let’s just hope it’s sooner rather than later.

Until then, we’ll continue to look forward to the return of the Arrowverse, which will begin on January 15th with Supergirl.
