Chris Hemsworth Assures Fans That The Avengers: Infinity War Trailer “Doesn’t Give Much Away”

Chatting to IGN while promoting his Afghan drama 12 Strong, Chris Hemsworth assured fans that the Avengers: Infinity War trailer doesn't reveal too much.

Two months ago, Marvel dropped its epic first-look teaser for Avengers: Infinity War, and the Internet hasn’t quite been the same ever since.

But even at two minutes in length, there are those who feared Infinity War had revealed too much, too soon, particularly when fans began speculating on the respective fates of their on-screen favorites. Last we checked, Vision, Iron Man and Drax the Destroyer were all at risk of being bumped off early, though we imagine Joe and Anthony Russo will save most, if not all of the major characters deaths until Avengers 4 arrives next year.

Speculation aside, the God of Thunder himself, Chris Hemsworth, has gone on record to insist that the Avengers: Infinity War trailer refrains from divulging too much plot, lest it risk spoiling all of the twists and turns ahead of time.

Chatting to IGN while promoting his Afghan war drama 12 Strong, the Ragnarok actor allayed fears that Infinity War blew its load back in November, before noting that both Joe and Anthony Russo were very conscious of the footage included in the trailer’s final cut.

Besides, after almost 10 years and 17 films’ worth of groundwork, Infinity War practically sells itself, as Hemsworth tells IGN:

It doesn’t give much away, for sure, because I remember watching it going, ‘Aw, it doesn’t tell people enough.’ And then Joe [Russo] was like, you don’t need to tell them anything, they want anything… Like, ‘Does it explain the story?’ It’s like, ‘It doesn’t need to.’

On May 4th, Avengers: Infinity War will shake the MCU down to its very foundations, before Joe and Anthony Russo finish the job with the launch of Avengers 4 in 2019. Both films may carve out room for Captain Marvel (and Betty Ross!), too, if online speculation is to be believed.
