Earth’s Mightiest Heroes To Visit An Alternate Reality In Avengers 4? New Photo Suggests Otherwise

An Instagram user by the name of 'passorijoe' has snapped a curious photo from the set of Avengers 4, which may well debunk those time travel theories.

UPDATE: These photos have been removed. Apologies for any inconvenience this may cause.

“Binarily Augmented Retro-Framing, or B.A.R.F. – God, I gotta work on that acronym. An extremely costly method of hijacking the hippocampus… to clear traumatic memories.”

Could Tony Stark’s cerebral tech be the missing piece of the puzzle? All this week, Marvel fans have been combing through one Avengers 4 set photo after another, hoping to find some clue as to what the Russo Brothers have planned for 2019.

Because make no mistake, their untitled Avengers sequel is arguably one of the most secretive Marvel movies yet, as self-professed MCU scholars pore over story scraps and other clues pertaining to the studio’s cinematic universe. It’s a search that continues unabated, especially now that time travel and alternate realities have been thrown into the mix, but thanks to one curious Instagram user, we now have evidence to suggest that Avengers 4 won’t be a time-hopping adventure, after all; but rather one that’ll incorporate Stark’s oft-forgotten B.A.R.F. into the story.

Check out the photo they shared in the gallery down below, along with those aforementioned set pics.

As you’ll no doubt recall, this bleeding-edge tech was first introduced via Captain America: Civil War, and allowed its owner to indulge in a little therapy to “to clear traumatic memories.” With that in mind, perhaps Tony Stark is actually demonstrating the infamous Battle of New York to the curious Ant-Man?

It’s possible, but again, this photo does arouse suspicion in the sense that the Binarily Augmented Retro-Framing device is openly paraded around set for all to see – including amateur photographers hoping to get a taste of the action. In short: this may turn out to be the MCU equivalent of a red herring. And a big one at that.

Bringing an end to an intense 12-month shoot, one in which Joe and Anthony Russo waged an Infinity War and brought Earth’s Mightiest to their knees, Marvel has now completed principal photography on Avengers 4. To mark the occasion, the Russo Brothers ordered a super-sized cake of Thanos and his Infinity Stones, which looks strangely magnificent, if we do so say ourselves.

Infinity War is all set to blow our minds on May 4th, before its sequel – a sequel known only as Avengers 4 at this stage in the game – completes the one-two punch in 2019. All roads lead to this, it seems, and we’re not exaggerating when we say that Marvel’s double act will redraw the MCU as we know it.
