Someone Has Recut Star Wars: The Last Jedi To Remove Almost All The Women

Some chump has apparently spent hours re-editing Star Wars: The Last Jedi in a deranged effort to rid the film of any traces of femininity. The end product, released via The Pirate Bay, is dubbed The Last Jedi: De-Feminized Fanedit and the objective appears to be to completely excise any moment where a female character does anything in opposition to a man, and to severely cut down every moment where a woman appears on screen at all. It’s resulted in a 46 minute long version of the film and sounds like an unwatchable mess – not to mention that the anonymous editor is working from a crappy CAM copy with hardcoded Chinese subtitles.

The description explains that nearly every scene has had to be trimmed in some manner, though he’s laid out the major cuts. Some of the most giggle-worthy are:

• Asian chick speaks less, doesn’t bully Finn, Finn doesn’t try to escape, she is never formally introduced. She is just there and occasionally smiles at Finn or screams “Finn!
• Phasma is finished after the first blow by Finn. (Women are naturally weaker than men, she isn’t force-sensitive, and we know nothing about any exo-skeleton in her suit)
• Kylo takes on more of Snoke’s guards while Rey struggles with a single one.

Even more confusingly, the edit goes on to take issue with the way the film treats its male characters, apparently resulting in “No whiny/reluctant/murderous psycho Luke.” You can check out the full list of edits here – get ready for a good laugh.

It’s funny in a pathetic sort of way, but at same time, it’s somewhat depressing that there are fans who are so unbelievably entitled that they simply cannot help but dissemble and crudely stitch together a movie in order to match their freakish misogyny. It’s also darkly ironic that this is being done to a film that explicitly urges Star Wars fans towards the realization that wallowing in the past prevents change.
