Does Warner Bros. Have Multiple Justice League Movies In The Works?

It's crazy to think that Justice League is the lowest-grossing DCEU movie. I mean, it was supposed to be the culmination of years of hard work and the granddaddy that reached the billion-dollar club. Instead, Warner Bros. is now sweating and worried about the future of their cinematic universe.

It’s crazy to think that Justice League is the lowest-grossing DCEU movie. I mean, it was supposed to be the culmination of years of hard work and the granddaddy that reached the billion-dollar club. Instead, Warner Bros. is now sweating and worried about the future of their cinematic universe.

So, what comes next? Well, undoubtedly, there will be a cooling-off period and we’re not likely to hear of any concrete plans for a while. That’s okay, though, as it’ll give the studio the necessary time to make decisions and stop rushing or reacting in haste. After all, we deserve only the best and Warner Bros. needs to stop throwing stuff against the wall and hoping it sticks.

Even despite the poor performance of Justice League, though, we can’t imagine that this will be the last time we see DC’s most popular heroes unite on the big screen. I mean, there’s just too much potential there and you can bet that we’ll be getting a sequel at some point. In fact, if producer Charles Roven is to be believed, we may even be getting a few sequels.

Chatting to Deadline in a recent interview, he revealed that the studio currently has multiple Justice League movies in the works.

“You know, a couple of years ago, I was a producer on all of the Justice League movies and their individual heroes movies. But it became very clear that in order to be a producer on those movies in the timeline that Warner Bros. wanted, it was way too big a job for one producer to oversee.”

Now, it’s important to note here that Roven is referring to the past, saying he was a producer on multiple Justice League movies. So, it could be that there were plans for a bunch of sequels, and now things have changed. However, as we said before, that doesn’t seem likely. Sure, it may be a while before Warner Bros. tries again, but we’re fairly certain that we will eventually get a Justice League 2.

Closer to home, though, the next DCEU release will be Aquaman, which swims into theaters this December. Following that, we’ve also got Wonder Woman 2, Flashpoint, Shazam! and The Batman to look forward to. In other words, the studio has a lot of chances to get things back on track now and if come 2019/2020 the franchise is in a healthier place, we imagine we’ll begin hearing about plans for the next Justice League movie.
