AMC is adopting a ‘go big, or go home’ approach to The Walking Dead‘s ongoing promotional blitz, as evidenced by this suitably epic mural drawn up by Christopher Shy. Having worked in close collaboration with Greg Nicotero, the creative mind responsible for February’s untitled (and ruddy emotional!) mid-season premiere, Shy has produced an undead masterpiece on the streets of Brooklyn, and below, AMC’s Instagram feed (h/t ComicBook.com) takes you through every step of the meticulous process.

True to Robert Kirkman’s original All-Out War comic, the second half of The Walking Dead season 8 will see the war between Rick and Negan reach its bloody conclusion. And just like all other instalments of AMC’s zombie drama, there will likely be one or two major casualities along the way, beginning with the death of young Carl Grimes.
He’s set to bite the bullet next month, and seasoned producer Greg Nicotero believes viewers will be given the chance to “make peace” with what is arguably the show’s biggest death yet.
It’s a beautiful episode and the people that clearly are upset about losing Carl and questioning where the show goes without Carl — I really do believe that a lot of people will put those feelings aside when they watch this episode because they’re really going to get an opportunity to make some peace with it. I mean, that’s what I think. I don’t know, I could be completely wrong.
Carl’s last hurrah has been slated to air on February 25th, and yes, in keeping with tradition, The Walking Dead‘s mid-season premiere will be an extended episode, so batten down the hatches and fortify those heartstrings.
